Mrs. Paul Gootee Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Elizabeth Gootee, 44, wife of Paul Gootee, died in Hardy sanitarium in Ardmore last Thursday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m.
The previous day she had her tonsils removed. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
Burial was in Green Hill cemetery Saturday afternoon. Services were conducted at the home in the north part of town by Rev. Payne of Sulphur assisted by Rev. Lloyd of Davis.
Mrs. Gootee was born in Lamar county, Texas, and had resided in Davis since her marriage to Mr. Gootee more than five years ago. She spent her life in Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Survivors include her husband; a son by a former marriage, Stanley Scruggs, Paris, Texas; two brothers, Lloyd and Roscoe Colbert, Checotah, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Lucile Castner, Clarksville, Tenn., all of whom were present for the funeral.
