Helen E. Carpenter, 90, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.

Helen was born in Lebanon on August 19, 1916 to Raymond and Emma Goodwin and attended local schools. She married her husband, Roger Carpenter in 1939 and together they owned and operated Carpenter's Dairy Farm, delivering milk to many homes in the local area.

Helen loved being around animals and was especially fond of horses. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family and going out for drives in the car. She also liked knitting, doing word puzzles, going dancing and was a big fan of country music. Helen was a very outgoing and people oriented person. Family was her top priority; she got a lot of enjoyment out of spending time with relatives. She will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Carpenter was predeceased by her husband Roger in 1993.

Surviving are her son, Ronald Carpenter of Springvale and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
