CRESS, Ann Marie (Age 77) Of Spokane, Washington, surrounded by family passed away on December 10, 2012 losing her battle to pulmonary fibrosis. Born to Dorothy (Koll) and John Goodrich on January 27, 1935 she graduated from Marycliff High School in 1952.

A loving wife and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, she is missed deeply and dearly.

She married her husband of 57 years, Vernon Cress, at Saint Aloysius Church and held various secretarial positions over the years. Her primary role was as mother and friend including a life of care devoted to children, grandchildren, her own mother, and other elder family and friends in need. She was the heart force of her extended network thoughtfully remembering every birthday or anniversary and always putting others before herself.

She loved to dance with her husband and walk through the neighborhood each morning greeting everyone she passed with a warm smile and hello. She was fun-loving, kind, and gracious who enjoyed laughs and drinks with friends and roasting marshmallows with grandchildren at the lake cabin. She was an avid sports fan who never missed a Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball game and cheered tirelessly for the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.

She loved flowers, ocean breezes, giving and receiving hugs, and chatting daily with family and friends. It was simple beauty and unconditional love that characterizes the life of Ann Marie Cress.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sons Daniel and Freddy.

She is survived by her brother John Goodrich (Therese), husband, Vernon L. Cress; children Ginnie Hawkinson (Thomas), Christine M. Cress (Beth), Timothy J. Cress (Becky), and Cynthia A.
