DECATUR — Martha L. Braden, 99, died Nov. 24, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church in Courtland with inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be today from 2-6 and Wednesday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Martha L. Braden, 99 of Decatur, AL will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church in Courtland with Bishop Thomas Davis Jr. officiating and inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 2-6 and Wednesday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. Braden was born June 4, 1917 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Eli and Milan Shackelford Goode. She peacefully made her eternal transition on Thursday, November 24, 2016 in Decatur, AL surrounded by her family and friends.

Mother Braden accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at First Baptist Church in Courtland and was a member of Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church where she served on the Mother’s Board. She attended Rocky Hill School and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; six sisters, Mary Goode, Katie Goode, Annie Mae Hearns, Lizzie Owens, Sadie Benjamin and Irene Davis.

She is survived by: nine children, Shirley Owens of Marion, OH, Jimmy (Faye) Braden, Rose Elliott, Miland Braden, Jeanette Young, Robert Braden, Rufus (Connie) Braden all of Decatur, Anna Draper and JG Davis both of Huntsville; 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Matteva Simpson; a special cousin, Annie Davis and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Flower Attendants and Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
