Only daughter and eldest child of Solomon Lipsitz and his first wife, Rachel Devorkovitz, Edith, her brother and parents, emigrated to America in about 1888.

The wife of newspaper publisher Joseph Goldman of Jefferson City, Missouri, Edith had relocated with her husband to St. Louis shortly before her death.

She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn (David) Levkoff whom she had gone to visit. Her death was the result of cancer of the gall bladder. Her remains were returned to St. Louis for burial.

Her obituary appeared in the St. Louis newspaper, The Modern View, on 05 Dec 1924.
