Mrs. Bertie Bernice Gold, mother, of Canute, Washita, OK. John enlisted in the US Army Air Corps 17 Jul 1941 and served as a radio operator and gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress until he was killed in action in North Africa. Awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
