Homerine "Tweet" DesForges passed from this life on the evening of September 18, 2016 and is now enjoying her eternal life with our Lord. She was 89 years of age.
Beloved wife of Octave DesForges since 1951. Mother of John L. DesForges (Sheila), Ted F. DesForges, Mary D. Gee (Charles), Elizabeth D. Perrin, and Stephen T. DesForges (Stephanie). Grandmother of John Ross, Emily, and Sophie DesForges, Jonathan, Benjamin, A.J., and Sarah Begault, Daisy Perrin, and Step-Grandmother to Patrick Beatty. Daughter of the late Edward Goff and Adele Jones.
Born and raised in New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, LA since 1964. She was an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis Xavier parish and for the past several years a resident of Colonial Oaks Nursing Home. Tweet was the parish secretary at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Metairie for many years and a former employee of Eastern Airlines and Dr. Robert Smythe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd, Metairie, LA on Monday morning, September 26, 2016 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.
