Hazel Irene Critchfield, 94, of Meyersdale, formerly of Garrett RD, died May 14, 2014 at home. Born May 2, 1920 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Walter and Emma (Kretchman) Glotfelty. Preceded in death by her parents; husband John W. Critchfield; son: Donald Critchfield; infant son and daughter; brothers: Walter Jr., Lee, Clark, and Mack Glotfelty; sister: Pauline Spear; and daughter-in-law: Pat Critchfield.

Survived by her sons: Richard L. Critchfield and wife Margaret, Canton, OH and Thomas L. Critchfield, Berlin; grandchildren: Elaine, Barb, Tammy, Amy, Jeff, and Steve; 17 great grandchildren; brother: Robert Glotfelty, Berlin; and daughter-in-law: Janet Critchfield, Vineland, NJ.

She was a member of the Meyersdale United Methodist Church and former active member of Center Lutheran Church, Garrett. Hazel loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she enjoyed sitting on her porch, cooking, sewing, going for car rides, and gardening. She also loved her sweets, especially ice cream cake.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Viewing from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Meyersdale United Methodist Church, with Rev. Marlin Miller officiating. Interment Center Church Cemetery, Garrett. Memorial contributions may be given in her name to the Meyersdale United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
