Loretta Maxine Glaze-Gibson, 82, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 15, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

She was born Sept. 26, 1917 in rural Ingalls, the daughter of Arthur G. and Olive Jeanette Cockey Glaze. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School in 1935 and of Hutchinson Junior College in 1937. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she taught in Reno County schools for three years, and gave private piano lessons in her home.

She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, the Polyphonic Music Club, Piano Teachers League and was a past president of the Hutchinson Music Club. She also belonged to the Good Sam Campers Club, Serendipity Chapter, and to local bridge clubs.

On June 23, 1940, she married Charles E. Gibson at Hutchinson. He died April 15, 1991.

Survivors include: a son, Roger, Hutchinson; three daughters, Jeanne Bruhn, Anchorage, Alaska, Helen Johnson, Sacramento, Calif., and Marilyn Gibson, Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.


Memorials may be sent to the church or to the Polyphonic Music Club Scholarship Fund, both in care of the mortuary.
