Stella Casaccia, 51 E. Paul St., West Middlesex, formerly
of Memorial Drive, Farrell, passed away peacefully at
12:55 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in her residence with
her children at her side. She was 89.

She was born Tuesday, April 23, 1918, in Farrell, the
daughter of Andrew and Sophie Wojdanowski Gladysz. She attended Farrell schools. A homemaker, she was a
lifelong member of St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. Along
with her husband and other church members, she was instrumental in starting the pierogi makers group that still exists today. She was a nanny and housekeeper in the 1930s and followed the family to New York to continue employment and eventually returned to Farrell prior to her marriage.

Her husband of 64 years, Dominic Casaccia, whom she
married Sept. 18, 1937, in St. Adalbert's Church with the
Rev. C.T. Nagorski presiding, passed away March 11, 2001.
She leaves: her son Ronald Casaccia of Farrell; two daughters, Carole Calza, West Middlesex; and Marlene Stofan
and her husband Mark, with whom she lived; a grandson,
Christopher L. Calza, West Middlesex; a great-grandson,
Mattheu Calza, Pittsburgh; and a sister, Helen Spanos
and her husband Tony, Farrell.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in
death by two brothers, Walter and Henry Gladysz; a sister,
Jenny Wadsworth; a son-inlaw, Louis Calza; and a daughter-
in-law, Patricia Casaccia.

Mrs. Dominic (Stella), 89, of 51 E. Paul St., West Middlesex, formerly of Memorial Drive, Farrell. Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. Monday (12-3-07) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE
FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. A rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m. Monday in the funeral home by the St. Adalbert's prayer group.
Service: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday (12-4-07) in St. Adalbert's Church, 1035 Fruit Ave., Farrell, with the Rev. Daniel J. Krensinski, pastor, as celebrant. There will be a brief prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to leaving for the church.
