WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Thomas Lee Gladney III, 15, died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was born May 16, 1983, in Starkville. He was a 10th grade honor student at the Glen High School in Kernersville, N.C.. He was a Boy Scout. He played basketball and baseball. He wrote music lyrics and sang in the chorus.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hebron M.B. Church in Egypt community with the Rev. Danny Gladney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas Lee Gladney Jr. and Helen Gladney of Winston-Salem; one sister, Tiffany Gladney of Winston-Salem; his grandparents, Juanita Gladney and Thomas Gladney Sr. of Aberdeen, and Almeda S. Taylor and China Taylor Sr. of Starkville; his great-grandmother, Mary Gladney of Aberdeen; his godmother, Joella Shields of Starkville.
Pallbearers will be China Taylor Jr., Ephraim Gladney, Harvey Freeman, Ashton Freeman, Ken Taylor and Dustin Miller.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
