Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Jean Moon Glade, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2011 after winning her battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born January 7, 1927 in Kaysville, Utah to Wesley Everett Moon and Bessie Ellen King. Jean grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School in 1944. She married the love of her life, Harvey S. Glade, on August 10, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jean had many church callings, none of which were more special to her than that of Primary President in the Parley's Third Ward. She influenced the spiritual growth of countless children throughout her twenty-five years serving in the Primary.

She enjoyed her responsibilities as a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, and was instrumental in putting together the 24th of July's Children's Parade for many years. Her hobbies included gardening, bowling, attending BYU football and basketball games, and knitting hundreds of sweaters for grandkids and Barbie Dolls alike.

Harvey and Jean served in the Guatemala/El Salvador Mission from 1970 to 1973. Jean was a fabulous "Mission Mom" who loved and cared for over 450 missionaries, and they loved her right back.

Jean loved her children very much and cherished her role of mother. Her children will certainly miss their biggest supporter. She treasured having her grandchildren around her, and many wonderful memories were created that will live on in their hearts forever.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hal W. Moon. She is survived by her eternal sweetheart, Harvey S. Glade; sons H. Scott (Lorrie), Bryant M. (Lisa), Gary H. (Lynda), and daughter Allison (Richard M. Anderson); her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren (with two more on the way), and her three sisters, Nellie, Kathleen, and Laraine.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parley's Third Ward Chapel, 2615 East Stringham Avenue (2100 South), with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
