Alaina Levane Giordano, 38 of Towamensing Twp., Kunkletown, passed away at home on Monday June 25, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Alaina was born in Edison, N.J. on February 1, 1974, the daughter of William F. and Grace (Luciani) Hillard of Kunkletown and the late James L. Giordano Jr.
She grew up in Summit, N.J. where she nurtured friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Alaina was a 1992 Graduate of Palmerton Area High School. She pursued her education at Dickinson College in Carlisle where she graduated Cum Laude in 1996 with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta since 1993.She served two years as the coordinator of the Big, Little program at Dickinson and studied abroad in Spain.
Alaina worked as a paralegal in Philadelphia and Allentown. She also taught Spanish at the Friends School in Quakertown while she attended Cedar Crest College pursuing her Masters in Education.
We give thanks for the precious time we shared with Alaina and the way her love has touched our hearts forever.
She will be deeply missed by: her parents, William and Grace, her children who were the light of her life, Sofia & Bud Snyder. She shared a special bond with her loving sisters: Lauren (Giordano) Kupillas and her husband Edward of Palmerton and Jennifer (Hillard) Kersting of Albrightsville. She is also a special Aunt to her niece, Julia and Nephews, Kyle, Jacob & Griffin. She is also survived by many loving family and friends.
In the midst of things we cannot understand, bring us peace as we remember the love Alaina gave to her family and friends.
Services: Funeral services were held at the Jerusalem UCC in Palmerton. She was laid to rest at the Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Palmerton. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family: In trust for her children; C/O Grace Hillard, P.O. BOX 301, Palmerton, PA 18071, or to St. Luke's Hospice, 777 Blakeslee Blvd. Suite 6, Lehighton, Pa. 18235. Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc.
