Marion Ann (Gillis) Foster, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, died on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Elderwood Health Care at Oakwood in Williamsville. She was born in Niagara Falls on June 16, 1916, the daughter of Daniel and Winnifreda (Grandin) Gillis.

She attended local schools. She worked for the former Kimberly Clark and Sears Roebuck as a sales clerk for several years. Mrs. Foster was an avid golfer and was named club champion at the Frontier Country Club, where she was a member for many years. She loved to travel, sew and was an avid card player.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Anderson (John T.) of North Tonawanda; three grandchildren, John Douglas Anderson (Karen) of the Town of Wheatfield; James Anderson (Susan) of Gasport and Bruce Anderson of Baltimore; six great-grandchildren, Sydney E. Anderson, Jesse R. Anderson, Ian J. Anderson, John D. Anderson, Matthew R. Anderson, Maxwell G. Anderson; her sister-in-law, Loretta Gillis of California; a cousin, Margaret Beamer of Indiana; dear friend, Marian Nicosia of the Town of Niagara and John and Shirley Kilmer of Niagara Falls; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Jack Campbell Foster, in October of 2000; and six brothers, Roland, Joseph, Donald, John, Howard and Allen Gillis.
