Thursday, January 9, 1902, Ellettsville, Indiana
On Thursday evening at 8 o'clock Mrs. Margaret Gilliland, widow of the late William Gilliland, died at her home in Ellettsville, aged about 85 years. She had been failing rapidly for some time, and died from old age with a complication of troubles.
The family came from Pulaski County, Ky., in 1868, and have lived in this township since. Father and Mother Gilliland were hard working, upright, honorable people, and well respected.
They raised the following children: Elizabeth, John, Mag, Robert, George and one daughter now living in Kentucky, whose name we failed to learn.
The funeral was held at the residence yesterday, being conducted by Rev. Denny. Burial at M.E. cemetery.
