...Was born in the Town of Bethel, July 19, 1837, and was for many years a consistant member of the Presbyterian Church at Mongaup Valley.
In 18?7, she married the late George W. Barney and removed to New York City, this union proved an unhappy one, her health failed and for the last sixteen years she had been a resident of the home, where she died, for the last sixteen years. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Charles H. Royce of Rhine Cliff, N. Y., also one sister, Miss Julia D. Gillespie, and three brothers, William J., John M., and Frank; an elder sister Mrs. Mary Tillotson, died March 11th, 1892. On Tuesday her remains were brought to Mongaup Valley, and interred in the Union Cemetery, by the side of her parents and sister. Rev. Edwin Corneille, of the M. E. Church, reading the burial service at the grave.

Her first name may be incorrect. She was called Pamelia on the 1850 census, Permelia in 1855, Parmela in 1860 and Cornelia (Barney) on the 1880 census.
According to the NYC Death Index, Parmelia H. Barney died in Manhattan, on October 26, 1897, age 60 years.
