Hazel Ruth Gillen, resident of Corsicana and formerly of Blooming Grove, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village at the age of 88. She was born on Aug. 15, 1918 in Cryer Creek to John T. Pullin and Alma Boyd Pullin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Gillen; and children, Jerry Gillen and Megan Gillen.
Hazel is survived by her children Donnie and Peggy Gillen of Corsicana, Johnnie and Karen Gillen of Waxahachie, Mike Gillen of Pattonville, Larry and Terri Gillen of Blooming Grove, Betty and Jack Campbell of Bynum, Lelia and James Brown of Mesquite, Pam and Cliff Giese of La Grange, and Kathy Gillen of Whitney; sister Fannie Dugan of Frost; brothers and sisters-in-law Buddy and Billie Pullin of Blooming Grove and Darwood and Bessie Pullin of Oreville, Calif.; grandchildren Vicki and Randall Arnett, Hank and Sharon Campbell, Tina Campbell, Tiffany Gillen, Chad Gillen, Kim Kinzler, Jim and Claudia Brown, Jerry Brown and Amy Lunday, Randy and Pam Gillen, Rodney and Krista Gillen, Matthew Giese, Josh and Jennifer Gillen, Haley Gillen, Hillary Gillen, Cody and Leslie Reed; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
