Margureate Andrus, age 85 of Beaumont, Texas passed away August 30, 2012.
She was born September 19, 1926 in Jasper, Texas to Sidney and Effie Gilbert.
She spent most of her life in Beaumont where she met Dave Andrus and was married for 61 years. She was a homemaker, and spent her time taking care of her family and seeing to their needs. She helped with her parents, as they become aged and ill and later on was alive to take care of her grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Geneva Payne, grandson Brandon Andrus, great-grandson Ethan Verdine and most recently her husband, David Wesley Andrus Jr. who was always by her side.
She is survived by daughter, Sharron Andrus Stapleton, son, Gilbert Andrus and wife, Carol, grandsons, Andy Andrus and wife, Stacey, Harry Stapleton IV, David Stapleton and wife, Brandi, granddaughter, Emily Verdine and husband, Chris, great grandsons, Wesley, Nathan and Easton Stapleton, Harrison and Mason Verdine, great-granddaughters, Kristian and Andi Rae Andrus and Drake Mercer and Barrett Hamilton, both loved as a part of the family.
Margureate was a member of the Church of Christ for over 60 years and attended Dowlen Road Church of Christ.
A gathering of family and friends will begin on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 12 to 2pm at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Funeral services to be held following visitation and will begin at 2pm.
Buriakwill follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
