Tilla Juanita Blair, daughter of J. B. and Alice (Trosper) Gilbert, was born in Clay Co., MO, on Nov. 21, 1897. She died at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs,[IA] on Mar. 15, 1987, after a short illness at age 89 years, three months and 22 days.

On Sept. 1, 1920, she married Fred Blair in Harlan. Three children were born to this union. She worked in Harlan for a time as a bookkeeper. After the death of her husband in June of 1962, she continued to make her home in Harlan until 1976, when she moved to Council Bluffs. She was a resident of the Northcrest Care Center. She was a member of the Harlan Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Marvin; two brothers, Vernie and Wilford; a sister, Josie Mae, and her twin sister, Della. She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Reneau of Savoy, TX; and one son, Rex of Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Mar. 18, 1987 at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan with Gary Domina officiating. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery with Howard Gaer, Lynn J. McCord, Eugene Rasmussen, Gary Jorgensen, Howard Pedersen and Gorden E. Petersen serving as casketbearers.
