Donald C. Giffin, Sr., 85, of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Golden LivingCenter West Shore, Camp Hill.
Born on January 4, 1923 in Alexandria, PA, he was the son of the late Chester and Marjorie Giffin. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School, Alexandria, PA.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He served in World War II. He was retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot where he served as President of the AFGE Union. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. He was a Mason and also a P.E.R. of the Elks BPO West Shore Lodge # 2257. After his retirement he was active with the Elks, V.F.W. and American Legion.
Surviving are a son, Donald C. Giffin, Jr., of Camp Hill; a brother, Robert Giffin, Curwensville, PA, a sister, Sarah Carper of Spruce Creek and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Anne Giffin, a son, Jerrett Lynn Giffin, a sister, Betty Lightner, a brother, Neal Giffin, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Giffin.
Funeral services will be private and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
