Mamie Elizabeth “Cootsie” Blalock, 90, of Memphis passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Baptist Hospital, Memphis. She was born June 3, 1924 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Joe and Bessie Gibson. Mamie was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Blalock and her daughter, Janette Lockman. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, John and Melodie Blalock of Cordova, TN; her brother and sister in law, Joe and Bobbie Gibson of Dyersburg, TN; five grandchildren: Amy Beard, Christine Russell, Russell Nunley, Kim Peek and Justin Peek; six great-grandchildren: Andrea, Russ, Billy, Chloe, Cassie and Aaron and two great-great-grandchildren, Collin and Eli. Visitation will be 12 noon Saturday, December 6 with service to follow at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home.
