Mrs. Lulu E. Gibson, wife of Ned C. Gibson, died suddenly of a heart attack this morning at her home, 63 Gorham Street. In the restaurant business here for 35 years, Mrs. Gibson retired Feb. 20 last, when she sold the Star Lunch Room in South Main Street to William F. Hanoven. Born in Lisbon, St. Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William and Rachel Chambers Randles, coming to Canandaigua from Malone in 1905. She and her first husband, the late Frank C. Andrews, opened the lunch room in April of that year. Mrs. Gibson was a charter member of Canandaigua Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Congregational Church, in both of which she was most active. She was a past president of the Elizabeth Wright Hamlin Class of the Sunday School. Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Cora Coons, of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Alan Eshelby, of Hollywood, Calif. The body is resting at the Ahrens & Breen funeral home, where friends may call until Friday afternoon, when funeral services will be held from the Congregational Chapel, the Rev. J. Edward Elliot, pastor, officiating. Internment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
