FREDERICK B. GERWIG
ROME Frederick B. Gerwig, 76, of 1025 W. Dominick St., died early yesterday in Rome Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 3, 1884, son of Frederick and Katie Angley Gerwig. On Feb. 3, 1909, in Churchville, he married Winifred Williams. A resident of Rome since 1909, Mr. Gerwig was employed by Zingerline Bros. For 31 years prior to his retirement in 1949. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and had been a member of New London Lodge, F&AM, since Dec. 7 1906.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sisters, Mrs. Laura Beck of Rome-Lowell Rd., Mrs. Bertha Parker of Rome-Verona Rd., Mrs. Martha Marshall of Sherrill; two brothers, Frank Gerwig of Amsterdam, Elmer Gerwig of Rome-Verona Rd.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Griffin & Aldridge Funeral Home 209 N. Washington St., the Rev. Edward J. Tallis, pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Churchville. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at the funeral home.
