Her death certificate states she was buried at Saint Pauls cemetery & that she committed suicide. My grandmother told us that her father, Annie's brother, found her in the barn hanging as if suicide, but that she could not have done it herself. Unfortunatley, he took her down and the authorities ruled it suicide. The children were take from their father and for awhile Christ Gerling took care of them. The children always stayed estranged from their father, he was an alcoholic and he had argued with Annie over money for alcohol.
