Mildred Opal Huckins, daughter of John M. and Ida Frazier George, was born August 25, 1911, at Chester, NE and died February 2 in Austin, TX. She was 90.
She attended school at Lebanon, Mulberry and Hyannis, NE, where she graduated from high school in 1929. After graduating, she moved to Detroit, MI, where she worked for a time for Bell Telephone Co.
She was united in marriage to Gerald J. Huckins of Chester, NE on February 4, 1935 and to this union one daughter was born.
She was baptized at 13 at the Christian Church, Mulberry, in 1934. She was a member of the Chester United Methodist Church for 50 years and held offices for the United Methodist Women and Circle group. She was a member of the Chester Women's Club, Extension Club, Chester Library Board and volunteered at the Chester Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister and her husband in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharyn Baybayan, Austin, TX; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Chester United Methodist Church, Chester, NE at 11:00 a.m., February 7.
Interment will be at Chester Cemetery.
