George Ellis Geiszler

George Ellis Geiszler, 56, of Albany died Saturday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
He was born in Grand Forks, N.D., to Edgar and Mabel (Rohr) Geiszler.
He grew up in Gackle, N.D., and graduated from high school there. He moved in 1965 to Bandon.
On Oct. 3, 1981, he married Shelley Cartier in Salem.
After serving in the Army in Vietnam, he attended school in Ashland and earned a business degree.
He worked for Kmart and then returned to school and earned a master's degree in education. He taught business at Lebanon High School for 27 years. He also coached tennis, was a DECA advisor and former freshman football coach at the high school.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Albany.
He is survived by his wife; sons J.D. Geiszler and Scott Geiszler; daughters Amanda Spowehn and Stephanie Moss, all of Albany; brothers Kenny Sprecker of Tacoma, Wash., Marvin Wyatt of West Linn and Floyd Wyatt of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters Diane Escerga of Tacoma, Wash., Marjorie Vanzuen and Shirley Simmons, both of Kennewick, Wash., Gayle Puppe and Cindy Watts, both of Aurora, Colo., Judy McDougal of North Dakota and Mary Geiszler of Beaverton; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1910 S.E. 34th Ave., Albany.
