Again it is our duty to chronicle the sad tidings of another death in our midst, and we grasp the pen with a reluctant feeling, realizing that in the midst of life is death. Our community was shocked last week by the sudden death of an estimable young lady, Mrs. Joe E. Geise, wife of Gregory Geise having died on Thursday October 1st of puerperal convulsions combined with heart failure. Deceased was sick only a day being 29 years of age. The funeral was held at the Catholic church the following Saturday, Father Trautlein preached a very appropriate sermon in English for the occasion. The deceased leaves a husband, two sisters married and an aged father living in Cheektowaga.
(Warsaw, NY, Wyoming County Times, Oct. 1, 1891)
NOTE: Her name was Zoe, not Joe.
