Dale Geis passed away at the age of 87 at Norman, OK on Saturday, December 1, 2012. He was born on August 8, 1925, in Rocky, OK to Otto and Hertha Geis and had four siblings: one brother, Earl of Hobart, and three sisters, Gertrude Dean, Aileen McCurdy Wagner and Pearl Gooch. Dale graduated from Rocky High School in 1943. In 1946, he married Anna Haxton from Gotebo. In1946-1947, he attended Colgate University in Rochester, NY. In 1950, he graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX in 1953 with a Masters of Theology degree. He pastored the First Baptist Church, Elgin, First Baptist Church, Harrah, First Baptist Church, Cordell, and the First Southern Baptist Church, Topeka, KS. In 1972, he moved to Norman and worked in the construction industry until his retirement. He was the owner of The Cabinet Store and Geis Consultant Firm as a kitchen designer and home builder. In 1974, he married Ginger Foster. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Norman where he taught a Sunday School class for 30 years. At the time of his death, he was a member of the NorthHaven Church where he taught a Bible Study Class and cared for the landscape and grounds. In 2007, he and Oma Gean Holt were married and had a wonderful and loving life.


He is survived by his wife, Oma Gean Geis
two daughters, Marilyn Chappelear
Dr. Ruth Dyer
one son, Stephen Geis, and
a brother, Earl Geis, Hobart, OK.

Six grandchildren, Brad Chappelear, Dominique Paye, Justin Dyer, Chris Dyer, Ellen Geis, and Sarah Geis. Two great grandsons, Gavin and Nathaniel Paye, and nieces and nephews.

The family is very appreciative of the care he received at Norman Regional Hospital, and especially by his nurses, Jenny and Abbi.
