Otelia Gay Bryant age 83, widow of James Fenton Bryant, Jr., and daughter of the late Josiah Powell, and Emma Lee Gay, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning after an illness for many weeks.
She was a lifelong member of the Franklin Baptist Church, former teacher of the Sunday School, and past president of the Woman's Missionary Society. A charter member of the Franklin Book, U.D.C. daughters of the American Revolutionary, and a charter member of the Franklin Garden Club.
Surviving is one son, Josiah Gay Bryant, of Franklin.
The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, and late today will be taken to the home of her son.
Funeral services will be held from the Franklin Baptist Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by her pastor the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and Rev. John S. Steele, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
The family request that flowers be omitted.
