Mrs. Ella F. (Hodsdon) Gates, wife of Charles K. Gates, of 10 St. Paul street, passed away at their residence, on Saturday. She was born in Portland, Me., the daughter of Hiram and Susan (stone) Hodsdon, the latter formerly of Charlestown, and was educated in public schools of Portland. She was married to Charles K. Gates in October, 1891. Mrs. Gates was a member of the Vesta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, of Charlestown, and also a member of the Cambridge Grange Patrons of Husbandry. Mrs. Gates is survived in addition to her husband, by Miss Elsie S. Francis, a daughter by a former marriage; a brother Arthur B. Hodsdon, of Portland, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah T. Smith and Mrs. Eva L. Harlow, both of Boston.
