Arnold A. Gast
VALPARAISO -- Arnold A. Gast, 79, of Valparaiso, died Friday, Sept. 6, 1991, at Pavilion Health Care Center.
He was born April 8, 1912, son of Anthony and Verna Yanke. He retired in 1976, after 36 years as a special grinder at Indiana General. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Valparaiso Council 738, and served in the infantry during World War II.
On April 27, 1946 in Valparaiso, he married Helen Wozniak, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Faulstich of LaPorte; two sons, James of Valparaiso and Raymond of Michigan City; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Loretta Knoblock and Alice Flitter, both of Valparaiso. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services 11 a.m. Monday at Saint Paul Catholic Church; Rev. John Charlebois officiating; burial in Saint Paul Cemetery; visitation 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Dykes Funeral Home, Valparaiso; Rosary at 7 p.m.; memorials to the American Heart Fund or Porter County Visiting Nurses.
