Andrew Henderson Garvin was the son of James Wallace & Nancy Wilson Garvin of Butler Co. PA. He was a member of the Union Army, 1st Cav., Co.G of Maryland and enlisted @ Pittsburgh PA as a member of Patterson's Militia. His date of enlistment was 25 Aug. 1861 and he died on 15 Sept. 1862. He was called Henderson by his friends and family and his Army records are under that name. This info posted by his great-great-grand-niece, related thru his brother, William.


Soldiers Home burial records state he died at Cliffbourn Hospital in Washington DC of typhoid fever.
