Rufus and Elizabeth married 22 Jan 1851 in Fayette County, Tennessee. They had six known children.
On the May 1847 Desoto Co, MS Probate Court Records, "Sarah Elizabeth Lucky, minor heir of John Lucky, deceased. Listed with 17 acres in Fayette Co, Tennessee. James Garrott is listed as her Guardian. There is a financial statement for years 1837 through 1846, thus indicating that she was orphaned about 1837. This accounting lists her receiving over $300.00 from her Guardian in 1844 in Franklin, Tennessee.
Rufus and Sarah married in Fayette Co, Tennessee on 22 Jan 1851.
On the 1900 Census, Rufus and Elizabeth are living in Poagville, Tate Co, MS. This is an area a few miles north of the Garrott family cemetery.
On the 1910 Census, 80 year old Sara Elizabeth (Betty) is living in Looxahoma, Tate Co, MS with a neice. Obviously Rufus had died between 1900 and 1910. This is the area of the Garrott family cemetery.
Sarah Elizabeth has not been found on the 1920 Census. She died after 1910, and before 1920.
It is almost certain that Sarah Elizabeth, along with her husband Rufus, were buried in a now unmarked graves in this cemetery established for, and dedicated to, the Garrott family.
