Zelma was born August 26, 1918 in Dongola, Illinois to the late George and Effie (nee Daywalt) Garrott.
She left Dongola in 1941. She was employed at Victory Memorial Hospital, Downey Veterans Hospital and retired from the Waukegan Post Office.
Zelma is survived by 2 sons, Darrell (Fran) of Beach Park, Illinois and Dan (Bea) of Wadsworth; 5 grandchildren, Christine (Rob) Cliff of Waukegan, Lisa (William) Woodman of Beach park, Sheri (Roger) Roberson of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Jennifer Colboth (fiancee Michael Voinovich) of Beach Park and Craig Colboth of Zion, Illinois; 8 great grandchildren: Alyssa and Alexandra Colboth, Billy, Katy, Ashley and Cody Woodman, and Jacob and Brendan Cliff; and a twin sister Zella Lacy of Waukegan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Colboth; 2 sons, George Delene and Dennis Edward; and a brother Doyle Garrott.
A Service of Remembrance for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON
FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Michael Brown officiating.
A time of visiting will also be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
A graveside service will be on Saturday at the Friendship Cemetery, Dongola, Illinois.
