HIGH POINT - Nola "Cookie" Garner Bell, 50, of Pinehurst died Friday, April 11, 2008 in Hospice Home at High Point following a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Guilford County, she was born October 21, 1957 in High Point a daughter to Clyde Allan Garner and Betty Grubb Garner. She attended Guilford County Community College and later graduated from Bauder College in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of the Sigma Lambi Chi Honor Sorority and a member of the association of Textiles Technology. Cookie was a licensed Real Estate Broker and Certified Shopping Center Manager. During her 17 year Career in Property Management, she had been associated with Steven D. Bell & Company of Greensboro, Commonwealth Development Corporation of Louisville, Kentucky and later became Vice President of CGI Management, Incorporated in Greensboro. She was also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers of New York. During her free time, Cookie enjoyed golfing, water sports and reading.

Her sister Bobbi Ogard preceded her in death on July 26, 2003.

Cookie is survived by her husband William Bell and a son, Garrett Wilson of Greenville, SC. Also surviving are her parents, Allan and Jean Garner of High Point, and one aunt, Marjorie Robinson of Denton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Emerywood Baptist Church in High Point. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the gathering area of the church. A graveside service will be at 3:45 p.m. today in Fairgrove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 204 Cedar Lodge Road, Thomasville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or to Emerywood Baptist Church, 1300 Country Club Drive, High Point, NC 27262. Online condolences may be made at Arrangements by Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
