Mrs. Pearl Atkinson, 81, Dies At Her Home
Mrs. Claude (Pearl) Atkinson, 81, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, at her home in Remington. She had been in failing health six months.
Mrs. Atkinson was born in Salem, Ind., December 12, 1888, the daughter of Ira and Sarah Gardner. She was married to Claude Atkinson in Rensselaer February 13, 1912. Mrs. Atkinson had lived in the Remington community since 1906.
She was a member of the Christian church of Remington.
Surviving with Mr. Atkinson are three daughters, Mrs. Doroth Butcher of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Doris Blackwood of Lafayette and Mrs. Esther Thurston of Remington; one son, Arnold Atkinson, of Remington; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Gardner of Remington and B.M. Gardner of Flint, Michigan.
Funeral servies were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Remington Christian church, with Rev. Richard K. Fox and Rev. Craig Meyers officiating. Burial was in Remington cemetery.
Rushton Smith funeral home, Remington, was in charge of arrangements.
