Ex-Mendon Woman Dies— Mable Gardner Bowen, 79 passed away in Torrence, California Tuesday. She was born July 26th, 1886, in Mendon , a daughter of Alfred and Mary Coon Gardner. She was the wife of Herbert Bowen whom she married on October 23rd, 1915 in Mendon. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on April 12th, 1916. Mrs. Bowen was an active member of the L.D.S. church. The family made their home in Ogden and had lived in California since 1936. Surviving are her husband and two children, Jack, Fresno, California and Mrs. Ruth Thornton, Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers F.A. Gardner, Salt Lake City, and Hugh R. Gardner, Colusa, California; sisters, Mrs. Orson (Maud) Hancock, Malad City; Mrs. Chauncey (Mae) Paine, Pocatello; Mrs. Chauncey (Josephine) Sorensen, Ogden. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at eleven a.m. at the Kenneth Lindquist Mortuary by Bishop Fred W. Sorensen, Mendon. Friends may call prior to services on Saturday.
