Harold Birk Gardiner, 90, died July 20, 204 following an accidental fall while working in the yard he had tended for more than sixty years. Born Dec. 28, 1913 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, a son of Doretta Hudson and Walter Otto Birk. Reared by Violet and Arthur Gardiner after the death of his father. Attended LDS High School and the University of Utah. Served an LDS mission to the Northwestern States where he met his eternal sweetheart, Erma Young. They were married February 23, 1937 in the Logan Temple, and became the parents of ten children. Survived by nine sons and daughters: Jean, Phoenix, AZ; Mark Y. (Sherry), Rupert, ID; D. Paul (Martha) and Sue (David) Wolfgramm, Bountiful; Louise (Cole) Durham, Provo; Janice (Ron) Wright, Erma (Gordon) Winter, and Arthur Y. (Jolene), Salt Lake City; Marcia, San Francisco, CA; daughter-in-law, Janet Gardiner, Layton; half-sister Bonnie (Robert) Kelstrom; 31 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, son, Harold A. B. Gardiner, and grandson, Joshua Thornton.
