She was retired from NMSU where she was employed in the custodial services. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include eight daughters, Maricela Rodriguez and husband Mike, Maria Chacon and companion Bobby, Agustina Estrada and husband Armando, Frances Guttierrez, Sylvia Martinez and husband Jesus, Mercy Baderrama and husband Alfonso, Anna Salazar and husband Javier and Juana Garcia; one son, Victor Balderrama all of Las Cruces. Also left to mourn her passing are two sisters; Rosario and Juanita Garcia, three brothers; Roberto, Felipe and Juan Manuel Garcia as well twenty seven grandchildren and twenty four great-grand children and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Marcelino Garcia two granddaughters; Jessica Martinez and Elizabeth Gutierrez and niece Natalia Garcia.
Our mother was a wonderful loving and giving person, always helping those in need. Her love was abundant and unselfish. May God now bless her for her selfless acts on Earth. She will forever be missed. We love you Mom..tus Hijos.
Visitation for Mrs. Balderrama will begin at 6 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Wednesday, November 17, at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite with Reverend Juan Moreno officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Eva and Alfredo Jimenez, Andres and Kimberly Chacon, Alfonso Cervantes, Armando Estrada Jr., Carlos Padilla, Eric Salazar, Isaac Gutierrez. Honorary casket bearers will be Rosario Garcia and Victor Balderrama.
