Fermin García, age 73, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his home.
Fermin was born on November 3, 1939 in Cedro, NM to Filomeno and Lugardita María (Griego) García.
Fermin graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque and completed an Associate's Degree in electronics repair. Fermin was a resident of the East Canyon area of Carnuel most of his life. For many years, Fermin owned and operated a TV/Appliance repair shop. Fermin was a devoted member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras and he was always a very prominent part of his sons and grandchildren's lives.
Since he came from a boyhood background in farming, he made certain to have animals around when his sons were growing up. In this way, Fermin taught his boys the value to hard work and responsibility. Fermin was a big fan of NASCAR racing and he also enjoyed following college basketball. Fermin was a "full-time" grandpa to his grandchildren. Fermin was always available to drive them to or attend their events.
Fermin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eutimia on June 20, 2010. Fermin is survived by his sons, Allen F. García and his wife, Josie, Danny García and his wife, MaryEllen and Eric J. García and his wife, Jennifer, all of Albuquerque. Fermin is also survived by his grandchildren, Gabriel, Ariana, Danny II and his sister, Lorraine Gutiérrez of Edgewood, NM.
Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Mission Church in Carnuel. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Holy Child Catholic Church, 19 Camino del Santo Niño, Tijeras, NM, with ennichement to follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
