He is survived by his sisters, Mary Macias and husband, Elias, Rose Marie Tafoya and husband, Anthony; nephews, Anthony Macias, Dav Tafoya, Armando Tafoya and Javier Tafoya; nieces, Anna Marie Villegas and husband, Jaime, Carolyn McCarley and husband, David; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.

Abel was well known as an expert Shoe Repair Man in Albuquerque, for many years at Central Shoe Repair on Broadway.
