Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Butch Neal will officiate, for Delores "DG" Cribbs, 61, who was born August 22, 1952 at Fort Bragg Army Hospital in Fayetteville, NC, to Johnny Gamboa and Louise Carter Gamboa. "DG" never stopped moving through her life until complications from kidney disease and a tired heart finally claimed her at Rose Medical Center in Denver, CO; "DG" went to her Lord on March 20, 2014. In between she lived a life full of hard work, adventures, caring, loving and always standing up for what was right. She grew up learning her no nonsense work ethic from her father and her compassion from her mother. She had a first marriage, which didn't last but produced two beautiful children, and a second marriage which would have been 35 years strong on June 7 of this year. She was a 13 year dialysis survivor, when the average is 5 years. A testament to her strength and spirit. She was an advocate of change and a champion of diversity, believing everyone should have the same rights and respect no matter who you were. She loved her Lord and was strong in her faith, and she lived her life for her family, loving and supporting them unconditionally. Always involved and ready to help – even if it was just picking up the telephone and listening. "DG" you will be missed terribly. Our world will be a little darker with you gone, but heaven is a little brighter.
"DG" will lie in state on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 1 – 3 P.M. Per her wishes cremation will follow services.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Johnny and Louise Gamboa, her husband Ronald H. Cribbs, son John A. Britt, daughters Christie Louise Tackett, brother Danny Gamboa, and sisters Debbie Sigala, Liz Sigala and Diane Gamboa.
