Marjorie F. Cerchio
Marjorie F. Cerchio, of Bear, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.
Marge was born on August 18, 1944, in Panama City, Florida and was raised in Greeley, Colorado where she graduated second in her class from Windsor High School, Windsor, Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State College, now The University of Northern Colorado, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Neumann College, Aston, Pennsylvania, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau and Alpha Sigma Lambda honor societies.
Marge was employed by Christiana Care Health Services as a Registered Nurse in their Bone Marrow Transplant unit where she retired after 10+ years of exemplary service and where she was known for her warm, compassionate and comforting personality. She was also an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, Millcreek Hundred where she served on the Bazaar Committee.
She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Freadth Gamble and by her daughter, Nicole. She is survived by her daughter Kirsten and her husband Devon; her grandchildren Brennan and Cassie; her sisters LaQuita Scritchfield (Keith), Sharon Lieby (Rod) and her brother Martin Lee Gamble.
Services were at 10 am on Monday, July 2 at St. James Episcopal Church, 2106 St. James Church Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Margies's name to St. James Episcopal Church.
