Tyrone Daily Herald 10 Feb 1891:
This morning between nine and halfpast nine o'clock, Mrs. Sarah A., wife of Elias E. Borst, died at her home on Logan street. She had been a great sufferer during life, having been troubled with a bronchial disease for the past three years. Last winter when la grippe was so prevalent she contracted it in its worst form, from which she never fully recovered, and about three weeks ago she again contracted this disease which finally terminated in pneumonia, and caused her death this morning. As is the case in almost every instance when death is soon expected to take from our midst a loved one it is a great shock and one is not prepared for it when it does come. This was true in the case of Mrs. Borst. Although they looked for her death soon,it came before they expected it and caused a terrible shock among her friends.
Mrs. Borst was born in Juniata county, July 9, 1829 and was therefore 61 years 7 months and 1 day of age at time of death. She, with her husband and family removed from their farm in Huntingdon county to Tyrone about five years ago, and since that time they have resided in our midst and made many dear friends, who are greatly saddened by her demise. She was a very consistant member of the Presbyterian church since 1851, and will be greatly missed by her friends whom she assisted in christian work.
She leaves besides her husband, two half-sisters and two half brothers, and three sons and one daughter. The half-sisters are Mrs. D. S. Mitchell, of Kansas and Mrs. Alfred Austin, of this place; the half-brothers are Mitchell Galloway, of Jeanette and John Galloway, of McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon county. The sons are W. J. , of Saxon, Bedford county; Harry W., of this place, and Oscar L., of Huntingdon, and the daughter is Miss Katie, who resides at home.
The funeral services will be held at the house on Thursday afternoon at one o'clock, to be conducted by Rev. J. R. Davies, after which the remains will be taken to Alexandria on the 2--train for interment.
