Argus Galloway, 77 of Bent Bridge Road, Route 1, Greenville, died Friday.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Jeff and Hulda Cassell Galloway. Most of his life was spent in Greenville. Before his retirement, he was manager for Davis Billiard Parlor on Perry Avenue for many years. During World War I, he served with the Army. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hortense Simmons Galloway; three daughters, Mrs. R. V. Staton and Mrs. Gary Carson of Greenville and Mrs. Sidney Arthur of Columbia; four sons, Sherman, James, Harold and Pete Galloway of Greenville; four sisters, Mrs.Leila G. Galloway, Mrs. J. D. Woodall and Mrs. Ada G. Reemer of Greenville and Mrs. T. C. Patterson of Pennsylvania; a brother, J. M. Galloway, of Greenville; and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home on Sunday at an hour to be announced. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
