Mrs. Gallatin was born April 17, 1913, in Red Lion, and was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Harriet E. (Emich) Jones.
Ethel was a main housekeeper at the Yorktowne Hotel for 12 years. She was a member of Otterbein U.M. Church of York, and was an avid bingo player.
Mrs. Gallatin was the wife of the late Walter L. Gallatin and is survived by a daughter, Donna E. Wentzel and husband, Howard of York; a son, Frederick N. Nickol and wife, Mildred of Hanover; six grandchildren, Barbara Hernley, Peggy Jewell, Wanda Smith, Barry Nickol, Gary Nickol, and Michael Nickol; 12 greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry L. Nickol, and 12 siblings.
