BEDFORD — Mary Amelia Gabbert Barnum passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
Mary was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Mart. She was a longtime resident of Bedford and was a faithful member of Brown Trail Church of Christ for many years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard, a son, Richard; and siblings, T.M., Bill and Bettye Gabbert.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was an inspiration to her family and friends in so many ways. She faced her 10-year battle with Parkinson's disease with strength and dignity. Survivors: Son, Kenneth and wife, Tracy, of Houston; daughter, Ethelyn Sharpe and husband, Lyle, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandchildren, Victoria Barnum of Houston and Mary K. and Tyler Sharpe of Cheyenne, Wyo.; nieces, Nancy Barron, Elise Magee and husband, Gary, and Merrikay Shade and husband, Forrest, all of Waco; grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and many loving friends.
