Lester E. Furnas, age 66, of Brownville, NE. Passed away Sunday, June 3, in Omaha, NE. A funeral service for Lester Furnas will be held Thursday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE. Burial will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Brownville, NE.
Lester was born August 16, 1945 in Auburn, NE, one of four children of Glen Furnas and Edith (Scears) Furnas.
He graduated from Nemaha, NE High School in 1964 and married Carol Quinn June 20, 1965. They had two children, David and Sherrie.
Lester was a farmer, and in Highway construction and also worked at Cooper Nuclear Station. He ran the Nemaha Community Center for more than 20 years.
He reached the age of 66 years, 9 months and 18 days and was preceded in death by his father Glen and one brother Dennis.
He is survived by his wife Carol Furnas of Brownville, NE; mother Edith Furnas of Brownville, NE; children David Furnas (Kelly)of Brownville, NE; daughter Sherrie Cottrell (Kyle Brinckerhoff) of Auburn, NE; five grand-children, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. family will greet friends from 6-7 with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
