Dorthaphine Brownd, age 91, of Earth, passed away June 30, 2011, in Olton. She was born May 29, 1920, to Richard and Kate (Harrel) Fulfer in Erath County, Texas. She married Gene Brownd in Hale Center, Texas, on Sept. 9, 1939. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Kathie Shirey in 2003.
Mrs. Brownd had lived in Earth since 1951, having moved from Hale Center. She was a member of Earth United Methodist Church and was a secretary for Brownd & Jordan Equipment Co. in Earth, Texas. She was Past Worthy Matron Order Eastern Star and Mother Advisor for The Rainbow Girls. She was very active with her church through the years.
Survivors include her son, Dickie Brownd of Earth, Texas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
