Donna “Joyce” Friesen was born September 26, 1944 to Theodore and Odessa (Anglin) Franklin in Chickasha, OK. She passed away Saturday July 4, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Binger, OK at the age of 70.

Joyce was raised in the Dibble and Blanchard area where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Vernon R. Friesen May 29, 1962 in El Reno, OK. They lived in the Oklahoma City area when they were first married, then moved to Louisiana in 1968.

After several moves they moved to Binger in 1979 and to El Reno in 1995. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and shopping with her daughters. Joyce rarely turned down a shopping trip regardless of her physical condition. She passed on her sewing skills to her three daughters. She attended the Trinity Holiness Church in Blanchard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Odessa Franklin, one brother, James Franklin, and one great-granddaughter, Lane Burkhead.

Joyce is survived by her husband Vernon Friesen of the home El Reno; four children, Regina Burkhead and her husband Phil of Binger, OK, Larry Friesen and his wife Tisha of Hinton, Rhonda Eden and her husband Don of El Reno, and Lenetta Cottrell and her husband Mark of Washington; ten grandchildren, Todd, Trent, and Tabre Burkhead, Payton, Daylon, and Keldon Friesen, Shaela Ingram, Tori Eden, Kyla Allgood, and Kacy Vaughn; four great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Aven, and Lincoln Burkhead, and Aden Allgood; two brothers, Jerry Franklin of Dibble, OK, Jeronie Franklin of Chickasha, OK; one sister, Janice McDaniel of Houston, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
